Enjoy Winter Vacations in Lake Placid
Have you ever felt the thrill of being pulled by 8 purebred huskies through a winter wonderland? Mike Arnold & his son AJ have been breeding & training huskies for decades. Their dedication & knowledge of the breed is intensive, as is their love for the dogs.
As a guests of the Golden Arrow, you can experience this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. They operate the dogsled ride on the frozen ice of Mirror Lake (right behind the resort). The ride takes you on a short tour of Mirror Lake & lasts approximately 10 minutes. You can fit up to 4 people per sled. As a general rule Mike & AJ bring their dogs from around 10AM - dusk, Thursday through Sunday from Christmas until the lake thaws (sometime in March). They also try to come to see us everyday over holidays & special events.
Obviously these time frames are guidelines & are completely dependant on the weather & how many days in the row the dogs have been pulling. (They get tired sometimes...not to mention Mike & AJ need a break!). Please call the Golden Arrow at (800) 582-5540 for more information.
