This year to celebrate Earth Day we decided to focus on the kids. Is there a more important generation than thiers to teach to respect the Earth and the nature around us? We invited the local kindergarden and pre-school classes and were pleased to have over 60 kids participate in the program (including some hotel guests!)
The kids made birdfeeders out of pinecones, peanut butter & birdseed, created "litterbugs" using various household good that would otherwise be thrown away & planted herb seedlings in tin cans saved from the garbage and fingerpainted into beautiful pieces of art. We also beautified the driveway with sidewalk chalk and had a lively game of hop scotch. Mother Nature rewarded us with a beautiful day and we all enjoyed spending time wiht the kids!
