Hiking in the Adirondack Park
 
The High Peaks Region is famous for its magnificent 46 High Peaks including Mt. Marcy, the highest peak in New York State, with an elevation of 5344'.  Y ou will find everything from easy day hikes to moderately strenuous hikes and extended overnight backpacking trips. There are thousands of nature trails and interpretive trails, lake hikes and river hikes, hikes to viewpoints and mountain summits and backcountry treks – something for hikers of all abilities and experience levels, from the occasional day-hiker or nature walker to the seasoned hiker and long trail backpacker.

The 46 peaks include the following mountains (listed in order of height):
Mt. Marcy, Algonquin Peak, Mt. Haystack, Mt. Skylight, Whiteface Mt, Dix Mt, Gray Peak, Iroquois Peak , Basin Mt, Gothics, Mt. Colden, Giant Mt, Nippletop, Santanoni Peak, Mt. Redfield, Wright Peak, Saddleback Mt, Panther Peak, Tabletop Mt, Rocky Peak Ridge, Macomb Mt, Armstrong Mt ,Hough Peak, Seward Mt, Mt. Marshall, Allen Mt, Big Slide Mt, Esther Mt , Upper Wolf jaw, Lower Wolf jaw , Street Mt, Phelps Mt, Mt. Donaldson, Seymour Mt, Saw teeth, Cascade Mt, South Dix, Porter Mt, Mt. Colvin, Mt. Emmons, Dial Mt, East Dix, Blake, Cliff Mt, Nye Mt, and Couchsachraga Peak.
 
The Golden Arrow Lakeside Resort provides a perfect starting point for hiking the Adirondack Park.  Whether you are planning a casual stroll around Heart Lake or planning to summit Mount Marcy, the highest point in New York State, the trailheads are only a few minutes drive from our door.  The Golden Arrow also welcomes canine adventurers at our resort.  It is great to experience the outdoors with your pet.  However, if you are planning on bringing you dog along with you on your hike, you should make sure that you are allowed to bring him/her along with you. Pets are only allowed on certain trails and with restrictions.
