If you think Whiteface is great in the winter, you should give it a shot in summer.  Mountain biking in Lake Placid offers variety for everyone, from the hard core rider to the gentle cruiser.  With 27 trails to chose from & the highest vertical drop in the East, if the view doesn't take your breath away the view will!     Lake Placid Mountain biking Packages for the summer of 2009: Sunday through Thursday $99 per person includes one overnight stay for two people at the Golden Arrow in downtown Lake Placid, two one-day all access passes to mountain bike Whiteface Mountain & a drink to take the edge off after your ride. Package ends September 7th, 2009. Friday & Saturday: $199 per person includes two nights accommodations at the Golden Arrow in the heart of the Adirondacks, a one-day all access mountain biking pass to Whiteface Mountain for each person & a drink to give you courage the night before you ride (or a congratulatory drink the night after you ride.  Up to you)! Restrictions: passes to Whiteface do not include any biking equipment.  You are welcome to bring your own gear or rent directly from Downhill Mike at Whiteface.  Rates based on double occupancy. Getting Dirty & Having Fun X-Terra Triathlon Package August 21st through the 23rd, 2009

Move over Ironman. There’s a new triathlon in town. On Sunday, Aug. 23, athletes will take to the trails in an XTERRA triathlon race in & around the village of Lake Placid. This race consists of a 1,500 meter swim, a 25K mountain bike ride & a 10K run testing the competitors’ strength & endurance. The two-lap swim will take place in Mirror Lake, while the bike & run will be on parts of the Jack Rabbit Trail.  There is also a 5K & 10K race that athletes can compete in.     $159 per night includes Deluxe Lodging at the Golden Arrow just steps from the race START & an Athletes Welcome Packet.   The Golden Arrow is located in the center of Lake Placid & directly on Mirror Lake so supportive friends & family can actually watch the swim from the balcony of our lakefront rooms!  The START/FINISH line location are just steps away.  There is no better location in town to use as a home base both for athletes & their loyal supporters. Skate America Package Available November 12th through 15th, 2009

Skate America is in Lake Placid this year & in honor of that we have created this package so you can come up & support your favorite athlete. This event is part of the Gran Prix Figure Skating Series . Remember this is an Olympic year & all of the world class skaters will be unveiling their new Olympic programs. $139 per person, per night (double occupancy) $219 per night (single occupancy) Package includes one night Deluxe Lodging, a silver level seating ticket to one Skate America event (either morning, afternoon or evening session), scrumptious dessert & an unforgettable cocktail at the T-Bar.
