Golden Arrow’s Environmental Commitment Statement

We are fortunate to live and play in the Adirondack Park. We realize a resource this precious is rare and are dedicated to taking any steps necessary to protect it not only for ourselves and our children, but for the thousands of visitors who pass through this wilderness each day. We are committed to delivering a premium guest experience while using non-intrusive, high quality, eco-friendly products. New advances are being made each day to help businesses achieve that balance between profitability and sustainability. We are committed to being vigilant in our quest to provide a fun, comfortable destination for our guests to experience this great park that we call home and maybe help them learn a little something about preserving our world in the process.

We are proud to have been the first resort in the United States to achieve Platinum status in the Audubon International’s rigorous eco rating program for environmentally friendly resorts and hotels. We are now one of ONLY SIX RESORTS IN THE USA to have received this status.

We have worked diligently to implement unique and creative environmental goals and initiatives here at the Golden Arrow. We have come to understand that “going green” is not something you are ever finished doing. It is an evolution, an “ECO-lution” if you will; and one that is continually changing with new technologies. We are committed to traveling the “green path”, continuing our education & sustainable growth. We plan to continue finding more environmentally friendly ways to use the resources we have.

Guest Experience

We are also committed to our guest comfort & satisfaction. We pledge to find the right balance between luxury & sustainability. The Guest Experience is our number one priority. We do not sacrifice guest satisfaction; rather we enhance it with our environmentally friendly resort programs, toilets, towel programs, recycling and other green programs.

The Golden Arrow Lakeside Resort received a platinum certification, their highest award, from Audubon International in their precious medal Eco-rating Program for Hotels. *There are only six other property in the world that have achieved this rating level and we are proud to be listed with them!

Finalist in Condé Nast Traveler’s World Savers Awards 2013: Every year Condé Nast Traveler honors “airlines, tour operators, cruise lines, resorts, and hotels that demonstrate exceptional achievement in environmental and social responsibility”(cntraveler.com). We are honored to have been a finalist in their “Large Resorts” category. Hopefully next year we’ll go all the way!

DEC Environmental Excellence Award 2008: The NYS Environmental Excellence Awards honors businesses, non-governmental organizations, educational facilities, government/municipalities and individuals that have made great strides in improving and protecting New York’s environment through innovative and environmentally sustainable practices or creative partnerships. NY Hospitality and Tourism Association’s Good Earth Keeping Award 2009: Now in their 15th year, the New York State Hospitality & Tourism Association presents the “Stars of the Industry” awards annually in recognition of exemplary professionalism & exceptional service from individuals in the hospitality & tourism industry. The Good Earth keeping award searches for the “Greenest Resort in New York State” recognizes lodging properties that have developed a culture toward improving everyday operations & the bottom line, while maintaining quality service & meeting guest expectations.
