We wanted an Adirondack weekend getaway and decided to check out  the site of our son & his fiancee's future honeymoon spot--Golden Arrow.  The views from our balcony were magnificient as we sipped morning coffee, ate, and read.  It was late May, so too cold for a swim in the lake, but we used the kayaks, canoes, and rowboats, waded in the lake, and enjoyed the indoor pool.  There is also a wonderful walking path that encircles the entire lake.  It's a quiet spot with easy access by foot to downtown Lake Placid for shopping and restaurants, and an easy drive to some of our favorite Adirondack hikes & vistas.  The newlyweds enjoyed Golden Arrow in July as much as we did!
