We, the grandparents of Michael who is autistic; non-verbal, deaf, and mentally challenged, and his mohter decided to try to visit Lake Placid.
We were very impressed with what Golden Arrow had to offer. We were happy to get 2 rooms connecting so we could all be together if we chose or have the privacy when we wished using the connecting door. The 2 rooms were decorated very nicely and were very spacious. We also enjoyed the beautiful view of the lake from our window and balcony. We thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance at "Generations Restaurant". Particularly that it was on the premises. The staff made us feel very comfortable and welcome, especially with an autistic boy.
Our grandson, Michael behaved very well and welcomed this new experience with enthusiasm. Early every morning we would all walk around the lake. It was very invigorating and helped us all be ready to start the day and enjoy what Golden Arrow had to offer. We all loved the indoor pool as it was very refreshing after walking about in the town center with its interesting shops.
Seeing Whiteface Mt. was a breathtaking experience with its vast panoramic view of the entire area. It was gratifying to see Michael with an inner peace on his face.
We all sincerely and thoroughly enjoyed such a pleasant stay at the Golden Arrow and hopefully will try to return in the near future.
