The Whiteface Oktoberfest was created back in 1991 with the help of Stefanie Holderied, owner of the Golden Arrow Lakeside Resort. Stephani and Wini Holderied, who are from Germany, were working on growing their resort and bringing more people to Lake Placid. Oktoberfest was the perfect way to celebrate and share their German heritage with the surrounding community. The celebration has continued to grow and 2018 will mark the 27th annual Whiteface Oktoberfest!

Oktoberfest is a two-day, Bavarian-style celebration located on Whiteface Mountain in Wilmington, NY. The festival is complete with music, dancing, food, and of course German beer!

The Whiteface Oktoberfest also features unique craft vendors and a variety of activities and entertainment for the whole family. Kids can keep busy with face painting, free carnival rides, and arts & crafts. The whole family can also enjoy juggling and tight wire acts! You’ll also be able to get discounted trips on the Cloudsplitter Gondola to the summit of Little Whiteface. The views from up there will make it pretty clear why fall in the Adirondacks is something worth celebrating!

This year’s Oktoberfest will be held:
11am – 7 pm | Saturday, September 22nd
11am – 5pm | Sunday, September 23rd

Have an Olympic Sites Passport? If so, you’ll get FREE 1-day admission + Gondola ride!
