ECAC Women’s Hockey Championship

For the first time ever, the Women’s ECAC Hockey Championships are coming to historic Lake Placid, marking a major milestone for both the league and the village’s legendary hockey legacy. Beginning with the 2025–26 season, the ECAC announced that the Women’s Championship will call Lake Placid home—placing the spotlight firmly on one of the most iconic hockey venues in the world.
Held at the Olympic Center, where Olympic medals were won and hockey history was made, this inaugural Lake Placid championship weekend brings the very best in women’s collegiate hockey to center ice. ECAC Men’s Hockey Championship

Few events are as deeply tied to Lake Placid’s hockey legacy as the ECAC Hockey Men’s Championships. First contested in 1962, the tournament was held annually at Boston Garden until 1993, when it found a permanent home in Lake Placid—adding another chapter to the village’s storied hockey history.
The 2026 Men’s ECAC Hockey Championship marks the 22nd time the tournament will be hosted at the historic Olympic Center, where championship drama, passionate fan bases, and unforgettable moments have become tradition.
Cornell leads all programs with 14 ECAC tournament titles, followed closely by Harvard with 11—a level of dominance unmatched by any other team in league history. With no other program claiming more than seven championships, each year brings the possibility of history in the making.
