Fun on the water

If you’re staying at the Golden Arrow, you’re in luck – we’re located directly on Mirror Lake! That means you can walk right out our back door (or your room door if you’re on the first floor) and have instant access to our private beach and complimentary water toys.
Want to explore off property? Check out a boat tour on nearby Lake Placid or head over to Wilmington for a little fly fishing.

Freshwater Fishing

on Mirror Lake

The lake is best known as a rainbow trout fishery but offers some exceptional lake trout can be found down deep in the summer. It is best to use a flashy lure or bait fish. The spring Hexagenia hatch (large mayflies) can offer good fly fishing opportunities for rainbow trout. Great smallmouth bass fishing can also be had in the early morning or late evening. Watch out for the many swimmers! If you plan on fishing on Mirror Lake (or anywhere else in the Adirondacks) please follow the DEC guidelines.
