Take a Walk Down Main Street, Lake Placid

Take a walk down Main Street, Lake Placid, and explore the local shops, restaurants, and fun activities.

To the Left, to the left

everything you own in a box…

Now that Beyoncé is stuck in your head, let’s take a walk down Main Street! Most people’s first instinct might be to head right out of our parking lot, but there are a number of shops, restaurants, and activities to the left too!

Right next door to the Golden Arrow you can relax and recharge at the Adirondack Foot Sanctuary, find keepsakes at Irish Treasures or Where’d You Get That Hat, and grab an ice cream cone from Get Twisted.

If you walk a little further, you can do a number of fun activities like tour the Olympic Museum, skate the Oval, and take in the magic of the 1980 Herb Brooks Arena.

Looking to get some movement in? Take a Yoga or Pilates class at The Studio Upstate. Head a few shops down for a quick coffee and cinnamon roll at Origin Coffee, or head down the street to the Farmhouse Café for a sit-down breakfast option.

Looking for something a little competitive? Play 10 frames at Big Z’s Lake Placid Lanes. You can also grab a bite to eat or use the multi-sports simulator.

Don’t forget to grab something for your furry friend at Man & Beast

To the Right

Heading to the right out of the Golden Arrow, your first stop should of course be our restaurant, Generations Tap & Grill! Generations is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and offers a daily Happy Hour from 3-7pm. Bonus: Golden Arrow guests get Happy Hour pricing all day!

One of our other favorite spots is the Alpine Mall, home to various eateries and shops. Grab a coffee at the Coffee Bar or a quick lunch at Wyatt’s. Be sure to stop into Critters for a keepsake of your favorite Adirondack Animal.

A local and visitor favorite, Emma’s Lake Placid Creamery should be on your list of places to stop. They offer a variety of ice cream treats, including hard and soft flavors, milkshakes, and sundaes.

If you’re looking for a gift (or something for yourself) head into Pure Placid for locally-made candles, soaps, and lotions. All their scents are Adirondack-themed and hold a special meaning to the owner. They also offer a number of candle making classes that are worth checking out!

Faizy's Fun House Arcade on Main Street

The perfect rainy day or date night activity; going to the movies! The Palace Theatre is a locally owned vintage theater showing 1st-run movies on four screens. Their prices are great compared to the bigger theaters, including their snacks!

The newest spot on Main Street is Faizy’s Fun House Arcade. Located next to EMS in the old Gap storefront, the arcade is currently on the main floor and has a number of games like Skee-ball, basketball, and Plinko, as well as grab machines. They have plans to turn the bottom level into a space for toddlers and the top floor into an adult space complete with a bar and axe throwing.

Ruthie’s Run is a great store to stop in, especially if you forgot to pack an extra layer for those unpredictable Adirondack weather days. They have a wide range of sweaters from Dale of Norway as well as fleece and jackets from Cotopaxi.
